Chuck Mercer (aka Charles Penn) was born in Los Angeles, California in 1941.  After his retirement from the corporate world, he and his wife Judy moved from Prescott, Arizona to Roseburg, Oregon in January of 2007.  They now reside in an old Crafstman two-story house with their dog and cat.  He writes poetry under the pseudonym "Charles Penn," and prose and other miscellaneous articles under his given name. His aversion to child abuse, violence, wars, and destruction  of the environment is the basis for some of his writings.  Chuck has been published in Spectrum, and the Opinion/Editorial Sections of the Orange County Register and The News-Review.
