Tela Skinner grew up on a dairy farm in Michigan where her Grandma Tela encouraged her to write. Tela has been a closet poet most of her life. During the past two years she has shared her poetry at the Manzanita Writer's Series open mic. She has lived in Manzanita, Oregon, with her husband since 2008.
